Despite what you may have been told by your doctor or read about in the news recently, Rheumatoid arthritis is NOT an Incurable disease that you have to live with, a bold statement (I'm sure you'll agree), It took me almost 16 years to discover the truth and now I'd like to share my little secret with you.
For years I muddled on day to day with my pain (not to forget my painkiller's), I'm sure I don't need to go into detail, as I'm sure your already quite aware of how restricting life is with this painful and often crippling condition.
I spent countless hours visiting my doctor, or consultant, all of which offered little help. Without exception the best the medical establishment could offer me was poor symptomatic relief. Eventually & begrudgingly I began to accept my affliction as part of the life I'd been dealt.
"The Older I Grew, The Worse My Arthritis Became"
Like many of you reading this letter today, the older I got the worst my arthritis became, It got to the extent of being frightened to leave my house, I couldn't even get to the shops. I'd suffered to some degree with rheumatoid arthritis for many years, but still managed to lead a relatively normal life, however things really did change for the worse as the years rolled on.
At the time I was taking so many painkiller's it was like they were going out of fashion, I took NSAIDs, Anti-Inflammatory pills, Courses of steroids, even Cortisone Injections when the pain & the swelling were bad.
And guess what?, they were all just a complete waste of time, yes the cortisone injection's would help with a bad attack, I'm sure the courses of steroids played their part in relieving the symptoms at the time, perhaps the daily dose of NSAIDs, Anti-Inflammatory pills kept my arthritis at bay, I don't know.
What I do know is I'd been fed a lie, all of the medication I'd religiously taken on the advice of my doctor to help treat my arthritis had only little symptomatic effect, while all the time they were actually making my condition worse.
I later discovered that the toxic affect of all of these drugs was compounding and gradually poisoning my whole body which only made my arthritis worse, but if I'm honest I would of just carried on taking the advice of my doctor and taking my daily course of NSAIDs had it not been for something frightening happening to me.
"The Constant Use Of Drugs Caused A Blood clot In My Bladder"
I cant say which particular drug caused the blood clot, as i cant be sure if it was just the continued use of NSAIDs, the combination of different drugs, or my bodies specific reaction to certain chemicals which had built up inside me, all I will say is that this event scared me.
The clot in my bladder made it impossible for me to pass water and left me in agony, I had to be taken in to hospital, where they treated me with 1000mg doses of antibiotics, which made me shake and vomit for almost a week.
It was at this point I realised that I had to look for an alternative to constantly taking drugs to treat my arthritis. With some help I did a lot of digging around, I spoke to a lot or herbalists & alternative therapists, I even tried acupuncture, but nothing seemed to have the desired effect, until I came across an internet forum regarding arthritis, I followed a thread (I think that's what they call it) which discussed possible underlying reasons for rheumatoid arthritis and a natural method of alleviating it.
Through that one discussion and a little more research I went on to discover that my condition was most likely the result of my body's incapacity to interact with an increasingly toxic environment, In other words my body had been poisoned by the very world I lived in..
I found out that my arthritis is actually an autoimmune disease, which is basically an overactive immune system, or an inappropriate immune system response that is out of proportion to an offending allergen (trigger).
